Human Resource Director

Job Summary:

The Corporate Human Resources Director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function for the Corporation. Develop and maintain the Human Resource initiative within the Corporation’s strategic plan, ensuring the Corporation’s direction on Strategic Workforce Planning, Organizational Development, Employee Relations and Culture, Compensation and Benefits Oversight and Policy and Compliance Management. Reporting to the CEO.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.

  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.

  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.

  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.

  • Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.

  • Develops and implements departmental budget.

  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.

  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.

  • At least five years of human resource management experience required.

  • Experience in Healthcare or related field would be an asset.

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.

Working Conditions:

  1. Full time, salary, exempted, primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00am -4:30pm however the position does require flexibility to meet the needs of the corporation.

  2. This positon operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

  3. Travel to the various facilities within the corporation, local meetings, and educational sessions are required with occasional out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

  4. Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and squat,

  5. Use arms to reach away from body and hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and controls.

  6. Routinely talk, hear, and use of vision abilities including close vision.

  7. Occasionally lift, carry, and move up to 20 pounds.

  8. May encounter stressful situations.

  9. Work Location: In person
