Time to Apply

The application process varies from company to company. Trend is integration with existing systems such as LinkedIn, Indeed and others. Some such as The Ladders, create a “Easy Apply” option that you build out a generic application and with their arrangement with employers, it will auto populated.

With any automated system, it is extremely important to double check the information. Some AI systems that read your resume or cover letter, are not always accurate and you may need to make corrections.

Many mid to large organizations have a ATS (Applicant Tracking System) that is integrated in their recruiting process and also integrate with third parties such as Indeed.

Most systems also are building in some basic screening questions into the ATS process and will automatically filter out applicants in the hiring process. There are also more complex AI that are using for audio and video in the application.

Less frequent, but some companies are still relying on old paper methods for applications.
